There is a junior nurse I’ve written about called N015 and she is a kind lady.
I was hungry just before supper time and I asked her if she could find me food from the fridge in the staff room.
She generously offered her time, even when she’s running late for the bus.
She offered to find me food, nice food it was as well.
Because she gave her kindness, the food tasted good.
It was not given in anger, as many of the things of this ward are.
“Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart.”
There was a time when I accepted all gifts as generosity, but Our Lord has made it so that I am unable to even eat food given in anger.
I went back to the table, the nurses had prepared later. I took food from that table, and I couldn’t even swallow it.
This food was given to the ward, it is cold when it is served. It was not made with love, it was made with contempt.
N015, thank you. Your generosity knows no bounds.
Please find a vocation in the Church.
Please know you’re welcome in Our Lord’s House.
God bless N015 and her family to come.
